Conceptually, my interest in working with blown glass comes from testing and pushing to the limit the possibilities that the technique, or its perception by the general public, has.
Subverting has always been an initial desire in any project in which Lota studio works.
The object named UNTITLED III focused on the concept of what a mold for blown glass is and how to transgress its perception through different materialities.
In this specific piece, the aluminum is acting as a delimiting agent for expansion and fusing with the blown material, becoming part of the final graphic texture of the piece.
The copper wires are intertwined together creating small expanded bubbles that define and contain the pressure of the blown glass.
